Blue lotus


The blue lotus (nymphaea caerulea) – belongs to amphibious perennial plants of family of lotuses. Meets in the moderate and tropical girdles of both hemispheres. In Russia the lotus grows in delta of Volga, in Transcaucasia and in the Far East.

As a matter of fact, the lotus is a sacred and especially favourite plant at many people of the East. It is possible even to tell that the lotus is the most ancient symbol in all ancient cultures where it symbolised first of all the Sun. The lotus reveals with sunrise and is occluded on a decline.

History:
This plant in a mud and ooze arises, persistently reaches for light through a depth of waters and at last explodes on a surface of improbable beauty a flower. However even before Buddhism origin ancient Egyptians have paid attention that the water flower (nymphaea lotus) rises on a surface and reveals at sunrise and again closes the lobes, being dipped, at its call. From here there was an assumption of mysterious communication of a lotus with change of day and night and locomotion of heavenly bodies in general. Such observation has induced them to devote to god of revival of the nature Osiris. In the Egyptian iconography Osiris was represented with a crown in the form of a lotus flower on a head.

It is known that ancient Egyptians used for a gift to deities and wore fresh flowers of a blue lotus or a garland from them. It is obvious that ancient Egyptian gods cleared up, and in ancient Egyptians invoked special type of intoxication an essential oil of fresh flowers – odour of a blue lotus is indescribably pleasant, and that fact that some modern shops offer, along with the dryed up lobes, a lotus essential oil, directs at certain thoughts. On the other hand, one phytosterols cannot render the expressed psychoawake effect though their role in formation of activity of lobes of a lotus is conclusive.

In medicine:
Along with sacred value, lotuses are famous for the health giving qualities. So, for example, in the Tibetan medicine the lotus – Nelumbo nucifera – has fortifying an effect; at gnyan (the started illnesses) and a fiery herpes. It is used also at diseases of lymphatic system.

And as has shown detailed research of mummy Asru, nymphaea caerulea had very multiplane an effect on the seriously ill ancient Egyptian dancer: the blue lotus helped to cope with pains, toned up, had therapeutic an effect at illnesses of a column, an intestine and lungs, treated an anaemia. It served as a perfect rejuvenating agent and perfectly recovered forces.

Application and action:
Traditionally dryed up lobes of a blue lotus or simply eat, or insist in flow of days in warm qualitative dry red wine, or weld up as tea. The method of smoking for reception of more expressed effects is now widespread, and they, these effects, can be various, depending on a method mean.

Reacting HAVING gorged nymphaea caerulea are: alkaloid and phytosterols, and a difficult essential oil.

Lotus action consists in a release phenomenon. As Lotus action lasts not for long it routinely accept gradually, without hurrying up, keeping the reached effect. By the way, in connection with the incontinuous period of validity, some joint method of a lotus with a sage is recommended – the effect thus can be rather penetrating. It is necessary to remember that a blue lotus – the most ancient and the most sacred. Effects from it thin, but can reach huge depth and vigour.
