Cropping And Curing Hydroponic Marijuana.

Monday, April 5th, 2010

After around eight to twelve weeks of ripening it’s going to be time to crop. It is crucial to harvest at the right time.
The best time to crop marijuana plants is when THC production has reached its maximum. A rough guide as to when to crop is to delay until 50%-80% of the white pistils ( hairs ) have turned dark ( sometimes brown or red ). But a better technique of deciding upon when to harvest is to wait till certain trichomes on the plant have matured. Trichomes on marijuana plants that develop a resin gland at the top are a good source of THC, and monitoring them will permit you to best judge when the plants are prepared for cropping. A better outline of cropping directions can be found here. Straight after the plants have been cropped, they deserve to be manicured ( leaves removed from the buds ), then dried and cured. (more…)

Hydroponic Marijuana ripening.

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Ripening is the section of marijuana expansion that produces the most THC ( the first chemical that produces intoxication ). You might start blooming when the plants are at least about 6 inches high and have at least 4 sets of leaves, but the quantity of marijuana produced by a plant of this size would be tiny. Beginning the blooming process when the plants are about 12 inches tall is counseled when employing a four hundred watt light source ( customarily after four to eight weeks of vegetative expansion ). Any taller and the bud is not as strong as the light can’t reach some of the lower branches, any shorter and the crop is too tiny. If you’re employing a two hundred and fifty watt light try blossoming when the plants are about 8 inches tall.

Now the plants are prepared to start growing ( vegetative segment of life ). The hydroponic system is working and the plants have 2 or more sets of leaves. Take away the fluorescent lighting then install and adjust the height of your metal halide or high pressure sodium fixture. When you first start the metal halide or high pressure sodium light the distance from the pinnacle of the plants to the light source should be started at the following height and decreased daily till you find a perfect distance :
* eighteen to 30 inches for two hundred and fifty watt light
* three to four feet for four hundred watt light
* four to five feet for six hundred watt light
* five to six feet for one thousand watt light

Seeds Or Clones To Grow Hydroponic Marijuana.

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Now you understand hydroponic systems and grow lights, it is time to decide on seeds or clones. The general public start from seeds but someone that is presently growing a crop will be ready to give you clones from female plants. Clones are simply cuttings taken from a growing plant. After a cutting is taken from the ma plant, it’ll progress into an adult plant, if given reasonable growing conditions.
Clones will be actual copies of the plant they’re taken from. Make efforts to get seeds or clones from someone that can tell you the origin of the strain ( indica or sativa ), predicted yield size, predicted blooming time, and if the seed is supposed to be grown inside or out of doors.

Lighting For Growing Hydroponic Marijuana.

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Selecting a hydroponic system will need the consideration of the right grow light for your wishes. Metal Halide ( mh ) and / or High Pressure Sodium ( hps ) are the lighting systems you want to flower hydroponic marijuana.
Fluorescent and LED grow lights are excellent for the seedling / vegetative stages of expansion ( or as supplemental light when flourishing ) but at the current time, they won’t produce as big a crop as mh or hps grow lights during blooming. It’ll also take extra time for the plant to mature. Watch out for claims by fluorescent and LED grow light sellers that say their lights will preform as good as mh or hps lights. (more…)

Indica And Sativa.

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Before you can begin to grow, you’ll need marijuana seeds or clones. There are 2 species of cannabis that are grown to supply marijuana, they’re Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa. Although there are dozens, if not masses of marijuana strains, most strains used to grow marijuana are generally indica, principally sativa, or an indica / sativa mix. (more…)

Where To Grow Hydroponic Marijuana.

Monday, March 8th, 2010

This guide is about growing hydroponic marijuana inside, so that the growing will be done inside. Where to grow your marijuana is dependent upon what space you have available.
An loft, closet or similar space will do, but a room devoted to growing is preferred. The largest problem most new growers face is maintaing the right temperature for the plants. A room with an exhaust fan on the ceiling is a good selection, if it is available. The exhaust fan on the ceiling will help in keeping the temperature cool, and if necessary, you can upgrade to a more robust fan to get rid of a bigger volume of hot air ( made by the grow-lights ). A piece of a cellar also makes a good area to line up a grow room. (more…)

The easy way to Tell Male From Female Marijuana Plants.

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Sinsemilla marijuana is a term for female plants that have not produced seeds. Not manufacturing seeds permits the plant to use more energy manufacturing THC and other chemicals that users require. An traditional custom for cannabis growers, sinsemilla is the results of removing male plants from the grow environment before they have got an opportunity to fertilize the females. Folk who grow hydroponic marijuana inside always grow sinsemilla. Growing sinsemilla outside is harder. Outside , a single male plant can fertilize females within an area of a couple of hundred feet. Inside , a single male plant will fertilize all females plants in the grow room. If you have started from clones you can skip over this part as the clones you got were female but if you have grown from seed, you’ll have to split the male plants from the female plants prior to the male plants flower and produce pollen ( unless you would like to produce seeds ).
